Award Overview
The Service Excellence Awards recognize staff employees who consistently demonstrate exceptional service, professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to the WNMU community. These awards celebrate individuals who embody WNMU’s PRIDE principles and the spirit of “Mustangs Serving Mustangs” through their daily interactions with students, colleagues, and community members.
Service Excellence Award recipients are recognized for the meaningful contributions they make to the University’s mission and for creating positive experiences that strengthen the WNMU community.
As we recognize and celebrate their contributions to our P.R.I.D.E. principles, let their stories inspire us all to carry forward the legacy of service that makes WNMU an institution like no other.

Voting Process
Service Excellence Award recipients are selected through a peer voting process. Eligible employees have the opportunity to recognize colleagues who consistently demonstrate exceptional service and embody the values of WNMU.
- Staff members will vote for one of their colleagues, in each job classification, through an anonymous voting ballot process in the June/July timeframe.
- The Employee Recognition Committee oversees the voting process and verifies recipient eligibility.
- All award deductions include all applicable taxes and withholdings.
- Award recipients will be announced at Fall Convocation in August.
Award Categories
Recipients are recognized within the following employee classifications:
- Professional / Technical (3 recipients)
- Executive / Managerial
- Support Services
- Service / Maintenance
Eligibility
- All full-time/part-time staff employees in a regular benefits-eligible position
- Includes employees under the bargaining unit
